Lloyd D. George United States Federal Courthouse
Seeking to create and preserve a legacy of outstanding public buildings, the General Services Administration set forth key design efforts around the country which included the Lloyd D. George Courthouse in Las Vegas. The courthouse, a testament to justice, establishes a powerful design precedent for large-scale public buildings.
The courthouse’s “L” configuration opens up the building to embrace downtown Las Vegas while abundant glazing creates openness and accessibility to the building and also enables visual contact between the inside and outside of the building. A clearly articulated organization is intended to encourage interaction and exploration of the courthouse and its surroundings.
