Mehrdad Yazdani Appointed to Lead Studio at University of Oregon

The School of Architecture and Allied Arts recently commissioned the Yazdani Studio of Cannon Design, in collaboration with Bruce Mau Design and Arup, to complete a strategic vision plan for the school. The results of this process form the framework for the development of a new generation facility to house the AAA.

As a next step in this exercise, Mehrdad Yazdani will lead a design studio at AAA using the school’s visioning process as a point of departure. Students will to take on the architectural design of a new building to accommodate all of the AAA departments and programs, beginning with a direct observational analysis of the activities that make up the school. From this beginning, students will explore how architecture can support an all-inclusive study program – one that facilitates collaboration while accommodating disciplinary identity – and future educational objectives.
