We’re proud to share the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design has selected The Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine for its prestigious 2021 American Architecture Award.

The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design has been recognizing extinguished projects for 27 years now in their American Architectural Awards program. This prestigious award is recognized nationally for honoring new and cutting-edge design in the United States. This year’s program saw more than 400 submissions.

The Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, located in Pasadena, California, is designed as an entire campus within the building. The 80,000-sf building houses simulation, flex classrooms, cafeteria, lecture hall, computer center, small group learning, collaboration zones, and outdoor recreation areas to create “the school of medicine as a laboratory.”
